How to Track AliExpress Orders That Use SpeedX

AliExpress uses multiple carriers for US delivery. Here’s what to do when your order ends up with SpeedX for the final leg.

If you placed an order on AliExpress and your tracking suddenly shows SpeedX handling the final delivery, you’re not alone in finding this confusing. AliExpress doesn’t have a single exclusive carrier for US deliveries — instead, it routes packages through a network of international and domestic carriers depending on your location, the seller’s shipping method, and current carrier capacity.

SpeedX is one of the last-mile carriers that can end up handling your AliExpress order’s final delivery leg in the United States.

Here’s exactly how that works, where to find your tracking number, and how to follow your package all the way to your door.

How AliExpress Shipping Actually Works

Before getting into SpeedX specifically, it helps to understand AliExpress’s logistics model — because it’s more complex than most platforms.

AliExpress is a marketplace, not a single retailer. Each listing is sold by an individual seller based primarily in China, and those sellers choose their own shipping methods at the time of fulfillment.

AliExpress’s primary logistics partner is Cainiao — Alibaba’s in-house logistics network — which handles consolidation, international air or ocean freight, customs clearance coordination, and handoff to domestic last-mile carriers in the destination country.

When your package arrives in the US, Cainiao assigns it to a domestic last-mile carrier based on your delivery address and carrier availability. The carriers used include SpeedX as well as major international and local carriers such as USPS, FedEx, DHL, UPS and others, depending on the region of delivery, the weight and size of the package, and the shipping method selected by the customer at checkout.

SpeedX fulfills the last-mile delivery role — the final leg from a US distribution hub to your front door — for a portion of AliExpress orders in metro areas where SpeedX operates.

Why Your AliExpress Tracking Shows Two Numbers

One of the most confusing things about tracking an AliExpress order that ends up with SpeedX is the two-number system. AliExpress-Cainiao assigns a unique identifier that allows you to track the package through all the initial stages of its journey — for example a long numeric string like 420113689214490344491234567890 — and an additional code for local tracking in the destination country, such as SPX0YB039700123456.

These two numbers track completely different legs of the journey:

The Cainiao/AliExpress number covers everything from the seller’s warehouse in China through international freight and US customs clearance. This number is active for most of the journey — often 1–2 weeks — and goes quiet once the package clears customs and is handed to SpeedX.

The SPX number only activates after SpeedX physically receives your package at a US facility. It may show no activity for 24–48 hours after the handoff while your package is in transit to a SpeedX sorting hub.

If your AliExpress tracking page shows both numbers, use the Cainiao number to track international progress and switch to the SPX number once the package is inside the US.

Where to Find Your SpeedX Tracking Number for an AliExpress Order

Your SPX tracking number won’t always be front and center on AliExpress. Here’s where to look:

In the AliExpress app: Go to “My Orders” → select your order → tap “Track Order.” The tracking page usually shows the full journey timeline. Scroll down — if SpeedX is handling your last-mile delivery, an SPX number will appear alongside the carrier name once the handoff has occurred.

In your confirmation email: AliExpress sends shipping confirmation emails that include the initial tracking number. However, the SPX number is often added later and may require you to check the app or website directly rather than relying on the email.

From the seller directly: If you can’t find an SPX number and your package has already cleared customs, message the seller through AliExpress. They can see the full logistics chain on their end and can confirm which carrier is handling your final delivery.

Important: If your tracking page only shows a Cainiao or international carrier number and no SPX number yet, it means your package hasn’t been handed to SpeedX yet — it’s still on the international leg. The SPX number typically appears once the package arrives at a US facility.

Step-by-Step: How to Track Your AliExpress Order Once SpeedX Has It

Once you have your SPX tracking number, here’s how to follow your package through the final delivery:

Step 1 — Use the official SpeedX tracking page Go to speedx.io and enter your SPX tracking number in the tracking field. This gives you the most current, accurate status directly from SpeedX’s system.

Step 2 — Alternatively, use our free tracker Our tracker sends you directly to SpeedX’s official system with your number ready — no extra steps needed.

Step 3 — Understand what each status means

StatusWhat It Means
Label createdSpeedX has your shipment info but hasn’t physically received the package yet
Received at facilityPackage is at a SpeedX hub being processed and sorted
In transitMoving between SpeedX hubs toward your delivery area — can be 1–3 days
Out for deliveryOn a driver’s vehicle, scheduled for today between 8am–9pm
DeliveredCompleted — proof-of-delivery photo available in tracking portal
Delivery attemptedDriver couldn’t complete delivery — check for a notice or contact SpeedX

Step 4 — Check back in 24–48 hour intervals SpeedX doesn’t scan packages continuously — updates happen at physical scan points. Gaps of 1–2 days during the “in transit” stage are completely normal.

How Long Does AliExpress Delivery Take When SpeedX Is Involved?

International shipments from AliExpress may take longer than domestic orders, typically ranging from 7 to 15 business days depending on customs and other factors. A shipment from China to New York might take approximately 10 business days to arrive.

Breaking that down by leg:

StageTypical Duration
Seller processing and China departure1–4 days
International air freight (China to US)2–5 days
US customs clearance1–5 days (longer during peak periods)
SpeedX last-mile delivery1–3 days

The SpeedX leg itself is almost always the fastest part. The longest waits happen during international transit and customs clearance — both of which are completely outside SpeedX’s control.

AliExpress vs SHEIN vs Temu — How SpeedX Involvement Differs

It’s worth understanding how AliExpress differs from SHEIN and Temu when it comes to SpeedX, because the experience isn’t identical across platforms.

SHEIN and Temu have confirmed, direct business partnerships with SpeedX and route a significant, consistent share of their US deliveries through SpeedX’s network. If you order from SHEIN or Temu in a major metro area, there’s a high probability SpeedX will handle your delivery.

AliExpress works differently. SpeedX fulfills the critical function of last-mile delivery by partnering with logistics providers to ensure fast and efficient delivery, but the carriers used vary depending on the region of delivery, the weight and size of the package, and the shipping method selected by the customer at checkout. On AliExpress, SpeedX is one option among several — you might get USPS one order and SpeedX the next, depending on your location and the seller’s shipping method.

This also means that if you’ve received AliExpress orders via USPS in the past and your current order is showing SpeedX, that’s not an error or downgrade — it’s simply a different carrier assignment for this particular shipment.

What to Do If Your AliExpress SpeedX Tracking Isn’t Working

If you’ve entered your SPX number and it’s returning no results or an error, work through this checklist:

Check that you have the right number. AliExpress tracking pages sometimes display both the Cainiao number and the SPX number in the same field. Make sure you’re copying only the SPX number (starting with SPX or SX) and not a mixed string.

Confirm the handoff has happened. If your Cainiao tracking still shows the package in international transit or at customs, SpeedX hasn’t received it yet and the SPX number won’t return results. Wait until customs is cleared.

Give it 24–48 hours after the handoff. There’s typically a processing gap between when SpeedX receives a package and when the tracking number activates in their public system.

Try 17TRACK as a backup. 17TRACK integrates with over 2,544 carriers and can often pull SpeedX tracking data alongside the international carrier’s history in a single view, which is helpful when you’re trying to see the full journey without switching between systems.

Contact the AliExpress seller. If the number still doesn’t work after 3–4 days from when customs should have cleared, message the seller through AliExpress. They can see the logistics chain on their end and confirm whether the SPX number is correct.

If Something Goes Wrong With Your AliExpress SpeedX Delivery

The most important thing to know: for issues with AliExpress orders, contact the seller through AliExpress first — not SpeedX directly. AliExpress’s buyer protection covers lost, delayed, and damaged packages, and the seller has direct access to the logistics chain in a way that SpeedX’s consumer support line doesn’t.

For lost packages, open a dispute through AliExpress before your buyer protection period expires. For delivery issues where the package has physically arrived with SpeedX (wrong address, damaged on delivery, etc.), you can contact SpeedX directly via:

  • SpeedX support portal: speedx.io (Miles chatbot, available 8am–8pm ET)
  • Phone: +1-800-658-4192
  • Email: info@speedx.io
